Cell Query Help Page

The IPD-IMGT/HLA Database allows you to retrieve information about a specific IPD cells. The Cell Query API has two entry points. This page documents the web based user interface. For information about the REST API please see our REST API help page. For information regarding what fields are available to be queried and their description please see our Cell list Fields documentation.

The Cell Query tool provides a web based user interface for building custom queries to the IPD-IMGT/HLA Database. It has the following query options:

  • Cell Name Query - Quickly query cell names, aliases and IPD Cell IDs
  • Advanced Query - Construct custom queries for all fields in the database
  • Field Select - Select specific fields to incude in results without including them in a query
The Cell Query Tool works by constructing a URL for the query. This URL can then be copied and sent to a collaborator to generate the same results of the query or bookmarked if you intend to execute the query multiple times.

Cell Name Query

The Cell Name Query tab allows simple queries on the Cell Name, Aliases and IPD cell IDs.

Below is a worked example:

Advanced Query

The Advanced Query tab allows for the construction of custom queries to the database. First a field is selected from the dropdown. For a list of available fields and their meaning please see Cell list Fields documentation. If relevant an operator can then be selected from a dropdown. Lastly a user input for the query is required which depending on the field can be text, date or selected from a drop down. Multiple fields can be selected for a single query and can be joined by either an "and", "or" or "nor" connectors. These fields can also be grouped to perform larger more complex queries.
